IN THE COMPANY OF "LORD NARAYANA"

Kali yuga is the most popular of all yugas because ,lord Narayana is seriously concerned about his wayward child MAN.During the previous yugas man had to perform rigorous yagnas, selfless charity or deep meditation to attain god, which are difficult for man to follow in this yuga. so GOD facilitated man and made it easy for him ,to atain HIS lotus feet .He gave man the archa form of himself[statues in temples ] for easy concentration ,and namasankirtan [continuous repetition of the lord's name]to aid in his worship.Namasankirtan is the easiest of all forms of worship.The lord through the sastras and the sampradayas has given us the anushtanam and shown us how to remember him through the day.
chant ''HARIR HARIHI'' on waking up , chant ''OM NARASIMHAYA NAMAHA ''10 times for a healthy body ,think of ''SAINT RAMANUJA''' ,walk 10 steps towards the 'south direction'' {WHERE LORD RANGANATHA IS LYING IN YOGA NIDRA (IN SRIRANGAM )AND NAMMAZHVAR AND MADURAKAVIAZHVAR LIVED (IN THIRUKURUGUR, THIRUNELVELI) },think about "GAJENDRA MOKSHA' . chant "HARIHI" OR "HARE KRISHNA" OR "JAI SHRI KRISHNA" while taking bath.say "KESAVA" while applying kumkum on the forehead . chant "GOVINDA" while eating . say "KESAVA" 7 times while leaving home.repeat "MADHAVA" before sleeping . when a person chants "NARAYANA" before sleeping and immediately after waking up it is of the effect of chanting NARAYANA through the entire sleeping hours.
Reading the "VISHNU SAHASRANAMA" daily is extremely beneficial to the individual and his family .It contains the gist of the vedas , the puranas ,the gayathri mantra and all the avatara prayojanas.
There are more stricter ways ,but these can be easily followed by grihasthas when in shortage of time and without special requirements.

Lord Narayana is present in five forms. They are 1. param 2.vyuham 3.vibhavam 4.antharyami and 5.archavataram .Param is how HE is in paramapadam ,vyuham in thiruparkadal[sheerapthi],vibhavam in the 10 avatara forms. Even after taking 9 avataras the lord was NOT successful in correcting the souls of man.Of them the archavataram is very popular and apt for this kali yuga. This is how OUR Lord is present in the temples . Lord narayana is in thousands of temples worldover.Of these temples there are 106 in this material world ,which are called Divyadesams .There are two more divyadesams which cannot be seen by us with this karmic body .Those two are Thiruparkadal and Sri vaikuntam . The 106 divyadesams are spread out all over TAMILNADU( 84 ) , KERALA(11) , ANDHRAPRADESH (2),GUJARAT(1), UTTARPRADESH(7) and NEPAL(1).Desam means a place and divya means sanctity. These temples get their sanctity as lord narayana in these places was sung upon by the alwars .The divine poems which have been set to particular ragaas and regularly sung during sathumurai are called as ARULICHEYAL.Cheyal means an 'act' and Arul means the 'blessing of god' . The songs emanating by the grace of god is arulicheyal.
The alwars are considered to be ten or twelve .They are (NOT WERE) 1. POIGAIAZHWAR [100]2.BOOTHTHAZHWAR[100] 3.PEIAZHWAR[100] 4.THIRUMAZHISAIAZHWAR[216] 5.NAMMAZHWAR[1296] 6.KULASEKHARAAZHWAR[105] 7.PERIAZHWAR [473]8.ANDAL[173] 9.THONDRADIPODIAZHWAR[55] 10.THIRUPANAZHWAR[10] 11.THIRUMANGAIAZHWAR[1253] 12.MADURAKAVIAZHWAR[11].The azhwars were born in 1.thiruvekka[kanchi],2.mahabalipuram,3.mylapore,4. thirumazhisai,5.thirunagari6.thiruvanjikalam 7.srivilliputhur 8.srivilliputhur 9.thirumandangudi 10.uraiyur 11.thirunagari 12.thirukollur respectively .The azhwars are also called as TAMIL MUNIS.The alwars were sent by Narayana to improve the lot of us men.The alwars never were successful and did not take upon the people to correct. They are actually the different inseparables of god like the gadha ,shanka, swoord , kaustubh ,viswaksena, bhooma devi, sri vatsam,sarngam etc.The azhwars belonged to different castes , showing that god treats everybody equally.
The poems of the azhwars are about 4000 . They are called as the divya prabhandam and nalayira divyaprabhandam [nalayiram neans 4000]. Vaishnavism is also called UBHAYA VEDANTA .There is no philosophy in the world which is not covered in this nalayiram.

when do we start ?

We have been endowed with eyes , ears ,tongue , nose ,sense of touch ,brain , mind, hands , legs and the soul by god.These five are the five indriyas .These are our enemies ,working fulltime against our wish of realization of god.The eyes we use for seeing evil fellow beings and other dastardly acts .With the ears we are constantly receiving vulgar noises and complaints about other people .The mouth we engage in eating all rajasa and tamasa foods , the tongue is involved by us in tasting these foods and abusing all fellow human beings in the most vituperative of language.The nose is used for smelling obnoxious odours . The touch is used for feeling things which are not supposed to be even seen.In the brain we store unwanted trash .The mind is never in our control .The hands are used for all trivial wants .The legs takes us to all forbidden places.The soul is untouched by us till the last .
By medical and clinical experience , we know that the five senses start dimming with progress of age and thereafter slowly lose their vitalities.The hands start shivering and the legs become unsturdy .The mind is a separate personality altogether and never obeys, becoming worser by the minute .The brain has lost all potency and does not remember even siblings.Not to mention of the soul which ,as usual untouched ,lies at the darkest nadir of the human system .
It is pertinent to note at this stage that some people always relegate religion and spirituality to life after retirement .Will it be possible for us to realise , see and love GOD at this fading phase of life , when none of the faculties cooperate with us ? let us accept that the process of god realization should start earlier in life.
Let us use the eyes for seeing god ,in temples or in pictures .The ears should be listening to upanyasams and bhajans . The mouth shall only take saatvik foods and divine prasad . The tongue shall be in constant namasmaran of the god . The nose will smell only dhoop and agarbathi from the temples.Only flowers should be touched for bhagavat aradhana.The brain shall be cleansed of all dishevelled and dishonest thoughts. The mind should keep reminding us about our duties towards god.The hands should be involved in dharma without each other knowing what is given .The legs should be in pilgrimage towards the divyadesams.If we follow these the soul will get cleansed and we dont need to have doubt about reaching the lotus feet of god in moksh.
